On
September 22, 1993, the President of the U.S.
urged the creation of new healthcare alliances.
Less than three months later, a group of five
local Chambers of Commerce was recognized by
the State of Ohio as the first official small
employer healthcare alliance in the state: the
Southern Ohio Chamber Alliance (SOCA), now known
also simply as the “Chamber Alliance.”
The Chamber Alliance created “ChamberChoice,"
a new healthcare product for members of the
participating Chambers of Commerce. Since its
inception, SOCA has grown from five to nearly
100 Chambers of Commerce in southwest Ohio.
With ongoing support and commitment, SOCA continues
to develop other value-added benefits including
workers' compensation group rates and cellular
phone discounts for participating members of
the Chambers of Commerce.
